Hi, we’re the Olson’s, Bob and Lee. We bought our very first shoe store during our first year of marriage, and after 48 years we still enjoy unlocking the door every morning to the wonderful smell of leather. My husband, Bob, learned the shoe repair trade as a young boy from his father and uncle who owned a store together. As a young couple, we embarked on the wonderful world of the retail shoe business, stocking the inventory of our store with the needs of our customers in mind.
Four stores, three children and ten grandchildren later, we are now located in the beautiful St. Croix Valley in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. Our two sons, who are living with their families in St. Louis, Missouri, were excellent shoe repairmen and have since broadened their skills to building custom homes in the St. Louis area. We are fortunate to have our daughter and her three boys, living close to us in Dresser, Wisconsin. With the artistry of shoe repair fast falling away, our customers repeatedly tell us how thankful they are that we are here and that our services are very needed.
Besides soles and heels on shoes and boots, we also repair purses, belts, jackets, etc. We try to educate our customers to never throw their shoes away until they see if we can fix them. Also, my husband has built a large clientele of customers in need of orthopedic build-ups for their shoes.
Bob takes great pride in his shoe repair work and our customers are always amazed and delighted with the results.
